MUSIC HISTORY
BACH TO BARTÓK:
A broad exploration of music history covering selected masterpieces from
J. S. Bach (Baroque) through Bartók (20th Century). The focus will be on
guided listening in order to gain an understanding of different musical
styles and the composer’s creative world within a relevant cultural
context. Students will develop basic music vocabulary for informed
listening and appreciation. No prior knowledge of music theory or music
history is necessary.
