Songwriter’s Toolkit
Instructor Clay Zambo hosts a series of lively discussions and gives guided exercises to help beginning and experienced composers and lyricists go from idea to performance. Classics from Broadway to pop music serve as models for topics such as: “The Alphabet Soup of Form,” “Title Wave” and “But Nothing Rhymes with Orange.”
Students’ work will be performed and discussed in every class. Students must play an instrument or sing in order to demonstrate their work.

Prerequisites: reading music is helpful, but not required
