Facilities
The Special Music School's facilities include many shared resources with the other organizations in the Goodman House—including Merkin Concert Hall and the Lucy Moses School.
Student concerts and performances are held in Ann Goodman Recital Hall as well as Merkin Concert Hall, a renowned concert hall. The Kaufman Center houses the Birnbaum Music Library, which is used by our students. The Lucy Moses School shares numerous instrumental, dance and art studios and classrooms with the Special Music School.
Students also have access to music studios with over 50 pianos, as well as a state-of-the-art electronic piano studio.
Students leave the school once a week for gym class and the school has three play areas; an indoor space, a small outdoor area and a large rooftop playground.
While most students choose to bring their own lunch, the Department of Education offers cold lunches at no cost.
Every classroom has at least one computer that is connected to the Internet.
