The Poppy Seed Players, the Kaufman Center’s resident musical theater troupe of adult actors, presents a series of musical plays for children about Jewish heritage. Joined by the Kaufman Kids, a troupe of young performers from the Lucy Moses and Special Music Schools, these productions are kid-friendly, interactive, educational and fun for the whole family. The overwhelming success of last year’s season brings back Sholom Aleichem’s The Adventures of Mottel, The Cantor's Son along with a Poppy Seed Players world premiere of Queen Esther, a fresh perspective on the classic Purim story of a beautiful queen who must choose between her own personal safety and the safety of her people.
