A Night in the Old Marketplace
Frank London will perform his acclaimed folk opera, A Night in the Old Marketplace, based on the 1907 Yiddish play by I.L. Peretz. The extraordinary score mixes Jewish, jazz, classical, rock and world beats with a dose of Kurt Weill and Tom Waits. Mr. London helped spark a musical revolution with the Klezmatics, and has lent his talent as composer and trumpeter to diverse projects with everyone from Itzhak Perlman to L L Cool J. Hosted by John Schaefer of WNYC Radio.
